Abbotsford is a city in British Columbia located next to Vancouver and the USA-Canada border. From Abbotsford, one gets stunningly views of British Columbia's Intercoastal Mountains and in particular, Mount Baker (a very famous ski hill). Summers in Abbotsford are dry and warm while winters here are wet, cool and relatively mild when compared to other cities throughout the rest of Canada. It snows heavy in the surrounding mountains making Abbotsford a great base for skiing and snowboarding fanatics.
Abbotsford's major employers are from the agriculture, manufacturing and transportation sectors. About 40% or Abbotsford's population actually works in the neighbouring cities of Mission, Chilliwack and Vancouver.
The arts and music scene in Abbotsford is pretty small. The Reach Gallery Museum has some excellent exhibitions and there are also many small summer festivals in Mill Lake Park. Sports are very popular in Abbotsford and the Calgary Flames moved their AHL team here in 2009.
