Brockville is a fairly large and busy city in eastern Ontario and it loosely marks the halfway point on the 401 highway for those traveling between Montreal and Toronto. It is a city that is located in the beautiful Thousand Island Region and its downtown runs along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River. It is a very old city in Ontario and as such, it is a great place to stroll and admire some of the old buildings here that allude to Canada's past.
Many large manufacturers have their factories and headquarters located in Brockville. For example, 3M is located here as well as Procter & Gamble and Shell Canada. The tourism industry in Brockville is also a main source of employment for many of Brockville's 20,000 residents. Many boaters love to past through Brockville throughout the summer months while wreck-diving is also very popular with tourists here. The Maritime Discovery Centre is a lovely landmark and tourist attraction in the city while there are also many independent shops in the downtown area that have been opened by local artists and entrepreneurs.
