Business Systems Analyst

Adastra is looking for solid Business Analysts and Business Systems Analysts with IT experience, specifically knowledge around Data Warehouse concepts and Cloud environments.

Duration: 6m contract w/possible extension

Location: GTA/Ontario

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work in a Data Warehouse environment to elicit, define, analyze, and document requirements for new projects and enhancements to existing applications supporting corporate processes and reporting
• Design/create source to target data mapping/lineage either in excel or a mapping tool like Power Designer and/or Erwin
• Negotiate SLA’s for incoming data sources with the application owners
• Work with business teams to design tables and feed structures
• Work with business teams to define fine grain data mappings with complex transformation rules for regulatory and non-regulatory reports
• Work with Architects, Development, QA, and UAT teams to build detailed sizing/estimates for projects

Required Skills, Education, Knowledge and Experience

• Thorough in-depth knowledge of data model design, data lineage, data mapping and data analysis methodology
• Understand Data Warehouse concepts such as Third Normal Form and Slowly Changing Dimensions
• Strong SQL skills are required (ANSI SQL, T-SQL, DB2 SQL)
• Ability to contribute toward overall data integration/data movement design at a high-level
• Hands on project delivery experience
• Must be able to generate complex SQL statements for data profiling and to convey data mapping rules

Nice to Have

• Financial Services and/or Insurance experience
• Experience with Big Data and HIVE
• Experience working in Cloud projects (AWS/Azure/GCP)
