Casual Skate Patrol opportunities are available immediately at Cowichan Lake Recreation, within the Community Services Department of the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Reporting to the Skate Shop Supervisor, the Skate Patrol assist with developing, planning, and implementting a wide variety of activies.
Education/Training
Preference will be given to candidates who are 15 years of age or older.
Experience
Experience with sharpening skates, performing inventory and overseeing a float would be considered assets.
Occupational Certification
A valid First Aid Level I with Child CPR Certificate (or if under age 16, the Emergency for Community Care Certificate)
As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work. Hours of work are scheduled based on operational needs and may include a variety of shifts including days, evenings weekends, statutory holidays, and school professional development days.
This non-union casual opportunity has a starting wage rate of $19.97 per hour (which is $17.07 per hour plus an additional 6% pay in lieu of vacation, 6% pay in lieu of benefits and 5% pay in lieu of statutory holidays), as per the 2023 Non-Union Wage Scale.
