RETAIL MANAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Kent is the largest retail building supply chain in Atlantic Canada. Our mission is to be the best source of home improvement products through superior service, quality products and everyday great prices. We protect our customers and staff by hiring and training associates committed to our safety values. We employ over 3700 people and work hard to increase our market share through strategic investment in training and technology. In addition to our retail stores, we operate truss manufacturing facilities and a wholesale drywall company. We are a member of Independent Lumber Dealers Co-operative which ensures our great product selection and pricing. It takes a special person to become a retail store manager. You are responsible for so many functions - sales, inventory control, community relations, developing your people. We offer an intensive management development program in addition to hands-on work to develop leadership skills. The ideal candidate is a graduating student or recent graduate from any discipline who is looking for an opportunity in retail management. You will work closely with a store manager to lead an area or initiative within the store. Your development will continue as you take on more responsibility, and work in different size stores and in different regions. Candidates must be willing to relocate within Atlantic Canada. Long term career growth is available through Kent, as well as J.D.Irving Limited, of which Kent is a division. Responsibilities:
Safety mindset Graduate of a diploma or degree program Experience leading people Ability to organize, plan, and implement change initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to leverage technology for project management, analysis and solving problems (including Microsoft Office Suite) Retail experience is an asset
