Equipment Operator (Fabrication)

Vulcraft Canada, Inc, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently looking for shop labourers/fabrication equipment operators to join our Leduc, Alberta team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The shop labourer/ fabrication equipment operator is responsible for safely assisting all Production, and Shipping Teammates in their daily task as well as helping to maintain a safe and organized facility.

RESPONSIBILIITIES

• Work in a safe manner and follow all company safety rules and safe operating processes.
• Assist with performing daily inspections on various pieces of equipment.
• Utilize overhead crane and no touch tools to perform daily assigned tasks.
• Operating forklifts as required within company safe practice procedures.
• Operate shop equipment including but not limited to saws, ironworkers, and shears.
• Capable of assisting with various areas of joist and deck production, as well as performing any other tasked assigned by your supervisor.
• Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean an orderly condition.
• Assist keeping the facility in a neat and organized manner.
• Be willing to learn and help the team succeed wherever possible.

Requirements

• General knowledge of shop equipment.
• Good mechanical and equipment aptitude.
• Prior experience in the steel industry is considered an asset.
• Prior experience with CNC shop equipment is considered an asset.
• High School Diploma.
