Status: Temporary Full-time (37.5 hours/week) - 12 months)
Salary: $33.94 - $42.00 per hour (based on competency and experience)

About the role:
A new and exciting opportunity is available to showcase your talents as an Application Developer within UHN Digital’s Technology & Innovation Portfolio. The Application Developer will be part of a team designed to support ongoing and new initiatives within the hospital. The role will be critical in helping leadership support ongoing projects with the aim of “digitally enabling the good work of UHN”.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:
- Perfecting the way our users can interact with the data through improved user interface and visualization techniques.
- Developing patient and clinician facing applications for quality improvement and research purposes
- Develop APIs to integrate with various applications
- Integrating novel automated analysis methods as they are being developed and validated by our research collaborators.
- Interoperation with various project and code management tools in the biomedical ecosystem.
- Performance analysis and improvements, targeting scalability to very large patient databases.
- Extensive security to support sensitive patient data.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Bachelors level education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies (basic design patterns, version control, issue tracking, project life cycle tools etc).
- Knowledge of JavaScript/CSS/HTML and programming using React.
- Knowledge of databases and SQL
- Experience with FHIR objects and HL7 feeds is an asset
- 2 – 3 years engineering experience in combination with any of the following is preferred:
- Modern JavaScript Libraries (Node, React)
- Docker
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Proven experience collaborating in a team
