Qualifications: Relevant post secondary education (engineering or related technical diploma/certificate); A minimum of 10 yrs experience in a role related to weapon and launch systems; Project coordination experience in maritime ship building/support programs; Experience in working with a cross functional technical group. Key Responsibilities: Assisting the AWW CM and wider CS team with: participating in the applicable CSC Working Groups to coordinate and manage all stakeholder interests regarding the Close In Air Defence System (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers; providing technical expertise during requirements refinement/vendor engagement, design, integration, certification, accreditation, system construction, installation, test activities and training to ensure that fully compliant and certified solutions are provided; ensuring that the physical and functional interfaces for all Close In Air Defence System (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers are identified, defined and approved via Interface Control Documents as applicable; providing technical expertise in the development, documentation, and evaluation of deliverables related to the requirements definition, design, integration, and test of all Close In Air Defence System (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers and processes; Work with the Combat Systems Integrator and the ISI CS Test and Evaluation Group to define, develop, and integrate land based test systems into the CSC land based test, trials and training facilities; providing support in evaluating engineering change to ensure that impacts, risks, and issues related to design, integration, test, certification and acceptance activities are understood and recorded; supporting the coordination of scheduling, planning, and conduct of activities to ensure that related program milestones are met; providing accurate status reports on assigned activities to the AWW Capability Manager; Fulfilling the above roles by: providing knowledge and insight into the operation & operational employment of Close In Air Defence Systems (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers; providing technical expertise in Close In Air Defence System (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers and the associated RCN and NATO safety standards; providing technical expertise regarding architecture and functions associated with Close In Air Defence Systems (CIADS), ships Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and other missile launchers and associated safety infrastructure; providing field engineering support during CSC production and its test and evaluation; establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal (Shipyard Production, CSC Program personnel) and external stakeholders (subcontractors and Canadian government staff); supporting a culture of teamwork, pro-activeness, and enthusiasm within the Combat System team, and be a role model for professional behavior.
