Job Description

Bantrel is hiring to support Bechtel’s new Manufacturing and Technology business. We are looking for talented professionals interested in delivering world class technology projects that will address growing customer and market demands in the semiconductor, electric vehicle, advanced materials, and data center sectors. The project is a large greenfield semiconductor design-build project outside Columbus, Ohio, US.

This position will be based in Canada and will remotely support the Project teams located in the US. This position can be remotely based anywhere within Canada, providing compliance to Eastern Time Zone requirements.

This is a full-time role, with the duration of about 6 months with a potential of extension to a longer term. In this role you will be a champion of diversity & inclusion.

Bantrel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Offsite Manufacturing to perform work that involves conventional engineering practice that include resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. As well coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors. Offsite manufacturing involves the design of modularized pipe racks, modularized equipment skids from a mechanical perspective. This will involve extensive coordination with other engineering disciplines like civil, electrical, and piping.


  • Review mechanical systems designs and engineering studies prepared by other engineering firms.
  • Provide guidance and ensure engineering quality design and compliance with project requirements, local design guidelines, local codes, and standards of independent engineering firms that are carrying out the detailed engineering design.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, consultants and attend project meetings. Review contractors shop drawings, technical queries and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Understanding customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for mechanical systems manufacturing process.
  • Mechanical design/selection/engineering of vendor skids module (pump/equipment/instrumentation /piping together) pertaining to Fabrication building.
  • Knowledge for different Process Licenser specific design requirements and construction features.
  • Producing key mechanical engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
  • Reviewing and checking the work of subordinate engineers and/or subcontractors.
  • Providing technical oversight of designers implementing mechanical designs in the CADD model. Coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Managing engineering subcontracts with their design and delivery per contract requirements.
  • Review of contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, and proposals for compliance with project design requirements.
