Content Strategy Manager

Our technology also powers Branded Editions (BE) - a white-label solution that enables publishers to deliver their digital content in interactive ways. BE allows them to build a customizable platform that supports a wide range of revenue opportunities.

We have an opportunity for a Content Strategy Manager role to join our Marketing Operations Team.

As the Content Strategy Manager, you will lead our content marketing efforts across the organization. Equal parts creative strategist and detail-oriented managing editor, you are able to work with our various vertical leaders and marketing managers to devise an overarching content plan that attracts, converts and retains customers of all types. You will develop storylines, asset ideas and campaign concepts that connect with individual subscribers (B2C) as well as our B2B partners in the libraries, hospitality, transportation and publishing categories.

In this role, you will:

  • Conceptualize and execute a holistic content strategy that targets B2C and B2B audiences to support core business objectives
  • Create a content plan with vertical leads and marketing managers to support multiple business units
  • Be a key stakeholder in positioning PressReader as a thought leader in the digital content distribution space
  • Regularly review content performance to optimize content output and plans
  • Working with stakeholders from business units, Growth and Marketing Operations teams, develop strategic briefs for in-house and external writers to ensure content supports business growth
  • Onboard and coach writers to the PressReader style guide and value propositions

You are a great fit if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in content marketing or content strategy
  • An analytical and strategic mindset, you know how to develop content that converts
  • Experience connecting content strategy activities to business results
  • The ability to multi-task and consider numerous audiences at once
  • A self-directed, highly collaborative approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; you are a natural storyteller

Bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, writing content for the web, and link building
  • Strong research capabilities
  • Experience using online publishing platforms such as HubSpot and WordPress
  • Experience using tools like Google Analytics, SEMRush and BuzzSumo to identify trends and opportunities
  • Have a strong interest in the tech, publishing and media sectors

This role is a full-time position based in our Richmond, BC office. Working from home is available during the Covid pandemic and we are actively considering and trialing hybrid solutions post-pandemic.
