Project Manager (2 Year Contract)

As a Project Manager, reporting to the Manager, Projects, you will provide direction for projects and successfully take responsibility for overall project performance including cost, schedule, quality and project status. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, including the initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing phases; coordinating project tasks, budget and stakeholders, while following project management principles and best practices. The position involves subcontractor negotiations, liaising with owners, engineers and sub-trades as well as management of technical and financial aspects of contract. You will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget and in compliance with the contract, project management best practices, company policies and procedures and legislation and labour requirements.

This is a 2 year contract role with potential to extend to permanent.

Your work will include:

• Maintaining relationships with all external and internal project stakeholders through effective communication practices;
• Acting as the main interface between the Company and the customer, on all project matters;
• Working with project stakeholders to develop a scope of work for projects;
• Developing and monitoring the project schedule and budget;
• Establishing construction plans and engineering methods;
• Handling all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts;
• Identifying project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigating actions are in place to minimize impact;
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, professional manner and on an ongoing basis;
• Ensuring project profitability;
• Involved in all facets of project close-out;
